Miscreants decamp with 87 sovereigns of gold ornaments

Chennai, Jan 3 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants broke open the locked house of a retired government doctor and decamped with 80 sovereigns of gold ornaments and valuables, at Villivakkam here last night.

Police said, Dr Ramamoorthy, who had gone for a pilgrimage to Tiruvannamalai along with his family returned yesterday and noticed that his house was broke open and miscreants had ransacked the three steel almirahs of the house.

Police registered a case on his complaint and investigations were on.
