LF Govt must be careful in land acquisition: Bardhan

Kolkata, Jan 03 (UNI) CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan today urged the Left Front Government in West Bengal to learn a lesson from Singur experience and take care in future land acquisition for setting up of industries.

"The administration should take lessons from Singur and be careful. They should talk to the local people and the Left Front partners to maintain transparency," he said in reply to a question on today's mob violence at Nandigram in East Midnapore district over acquisition of land for the proposed industrial site of the Indonesian Salim group.

Talking to reporters after his arrival in the city for CPI's State Council meeting beginning tomorrow, Mr Bardhan said the issue of land acquisition would be discussed in the meeting.
