LDF has no moral right to continue in power: BJP

Kottayam, Jan 3 (UNI) BJP State President P K Krishnadas today said the CPI(M) had no moral right to continue in power in the wake of Mr Balanandan's revelation that the SNC Lavalin agreement was signed in violation of recommendations of the committee under him.

At a meet-the-press programme here, he charged that by filing a false affidavit on the case in the High Court, the CPI(M) had lost its right to continue in power.

In the affidavit, it was stated that the SNC Lavalin agreement was signed based on the Balanandan Committee recommendations. The CPI(M), which demanded K Karunakaran's resignation in the name of false affidavit on the Rajan case, should make its stand clear now, he said.

'If no corruption is involved, then why is the CPI(M) leadership fearing a CBI probe?' he asked demanding a CBI probe into both the SNC Lavalin case and Kerala State Transport Project issue.

The BJP state committee meeting to be held from January 5 would chalk out future course of action on the demand, he said.

In reply to a question, Mr Krishnadas said the Nationalist Congress Party leader K Karunakaran could contribute more to the state. The present political climate was conducive for a third front and the NCP leadership should consider it, he added.
