Kerala should be 'pressurised' to accept SC verdict: BJP
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 3 (UNI) Tamil Nadu BJP president L Ganesan today said the Kerala government should be 'pressurised' to accept the Supreme Court's verdict on raising the water level at the Mullaperiyar Dam.
Addressing a news conference here, he termed the damage to the parapet wall of the dam, allegedly caused by some miscreants yesterday, a 'pre-planned act.' ''The damage does not seem to be natural and talks with the Kerala government is of no use,'' he said.
Referring to Kerala Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran's objection to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's request for deploying Central forces at the dam, Mr Ganesan said he had suggested a joint patrol by both the states at the dam instead of the present security measures being taken by Kerala Police alone at the all-party meeting convened by the Tamil Nadu government.
The state PWD minister had, however, rejected his suggestion, he added.
