Junior Nat volleyball tourney from Jan 13

Vijayawada, Jan 3 (UNI) The eight-day 33rd junior national volleyball championship will be held at P B Siddhartha Arts and Science College here from January 13.

According to Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Association (APVA) President S Kodanda Ramaiah, 51 teams comprising 800 men and women players from all over the country, would take part in the tourney, which would be held on a league-cum knockout basis.

Six courts, equipped with floodlights were spruced up for the championship, he said and added the junior Indian teams for the forthcoming international tournaments would be selected during the championship.

A camp fire would be organised on January 17 for the participating teams to provide them a platform to exhibit their regional talent in the fields of culture, language and folklore, he informed.

He said the organisers would felicitate Arjuna awardee players during the tournament.
