Joint Front reaches at adjustment on 64 seats in Punjab.

Jalandhar, Jan 3 (UNI) The Joint Front, floated recently by various non-Congress and non SAD-BJP parties, including CPI, CPI(M) and Lok Bhalai Party, has reached a seat adjustment with some other parties including Jan Morcha and Shiromani Akali Dal(1920), and urged outfits like Bahujan Samaj Morcha and BSP splinter groups to join them.

Talking to reporters at a joint press meet here today, Lok Bhalai Party president former Union Minister BS Ramoowalia and SAD(1920) president Ravi Inder Singh said that that the the new front, floated to fight unitedly against Congress and SAD-BJP combine, had finalised adjustment of 64 assembly seats among 8 parties.

As per the adjustment, Lok Bhalai Party would contest 14 seats, CPI 18, CPI(M) 14 and Jan Morcha would contest 17 seats. One seat -Dhariwal- was left for Sucha Singh Chhotepur.

They said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) leader Inderjit Singh Zira had joined their Front after refusing to follow president Prem Singh Chandumajra's move to join SAD (Badal).

Mr Zira was also present at the press conference. SAD (Longowal) has thus suffered a spilt with its president Mr Chandumajra joining SAD (Badal) in Chandigarh today.

Mr Ramoowalia said that joint front would continue its efforts for strengthening its base and work to field joint candidates on other remaining seats.

He said that second list on seat adjustment was likely to be released by January 10.

He said that his front would welcome leaders like BSM president Satnam Singh Kainth and other Bahujan Samaj.
