JCO killed, two jawans wounded in Rajouri encounter
Jammu, Jan 3 (UNI) A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed and two jawans injured in an encounter at Kandi forest area of the bordering Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said today.
Naib subedar Surender Singh of 60 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was killed on the spot while two soldiers were injured when militants ambushed an army patrol, he said, adding the ultras later fled the spot.
''Security forces have started a search operation. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far,'' the spokesman added.
