New Delhi, Jan 3: IOL Broadband Ltd, one of the country's first broadband companies, today tied up with state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) for providing Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) services.

BSNL has over 7,00,000 broadband ADSL subscriber-base across the country which is growing at a compound rate of over 100 per cent per year.

The company has also signed a revenue share agreement for the service with Anytime - a consortium of major Hollywood Studios comprising Disney, FOX, Warner, Universal etc - to have access to Hollywood movies in India.

With this agreement, it will showcase latest Hollywood films without commercial breaks, before the satellite television broadcasts.

The Mumbai-based company has started trials of its IPTV Service launch on the BSNL Broadband network in Bangalore. It will formally launch its IPTV and Video on Demand services in Bangalore on January 14, followed by other cities.

''With these services, the company is well positioned to become the third alternative to the Conditional Access System and Direct-to-Home,'' an IOL statement said.
