Indian killed in road accident in Doha

Dubai, Jan 3 (UNI) A 36-year-old Indian expatriate died in a road accident in Doha on Saturday when the car he was driving skidded and fell into a deep waterlogged drainage following a collision with another car.

Civil Defence personnel pulled out the body of Nikhil Kumar Virendra Bhai Desai from the 10-metre-deep pit and found him trapped inside the car for more than half-an-hour.

Police said Desai who hails from Gujarat had gone to get his car checked for renewal of the vehicle's road permit and was returning home when he found the workshop had closed.

Desai, working for an oil company, is survived by his wife and two daughters.
