Incentive scheme for differently abled persons
Panaji, Jan 3: Goa Government has introduced an incentive scheme for employment of differently abled persons with a view to providing equal opportunity to them in the field of employment and encourage the private sector to employ them.
The government will provide 100 per ent funds for the implmentation of the scheme.
The official released issued here today stated the differently abled person who is eligible to avail benefits should have 40 per cent and above disability as certified by the competent medical authority and should be registered as unemployed with the labour and employment department or employment exchange and he/she should be resident of Goa for the last 15 years.
The incentive under the scheme shall be granted to those private sector firms, corporation and organisation which employ eligible person only with effect from the date of notification and not for persons employed in the past.
The incentive shall be provided for a period of three years subject to any company, firm or organization which provides regular employment to any eligible persons in its organization.
An amount of Rs 500 per month per eligible shall be granted in case the salary of such eligible is more than Rs 5000 per month and Rs 250 per month per eligible employee in case the salary of such eligible staff is more than Rs 2000 per month but less than Rs 5000 per month.
The concerned firms and organisations should make total ceiling of maximum 25 per cent of total working staff on memeber of eligible employees in an organisation, the released added.
