Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy today said Intelligence Bureau (IB) reports received by the police department could not be shared or discussed with the media as most of them are confidential.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Roy said ''We receive IB reports, which are confidential or top secret and such reports cannot be disclosed to mediapersons.'' Replying to a specific query pertaining to threats to Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackerary during his two rallies for the forthcoming BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) elections slated to be held on February one, the Commissioner declined to comment on it.

He said security has been beefed up across the metropolis for new year celebrations and Bakri-Id and there was no need to panic.

About the Gateway of India Incident, where a woman was molested by an unruly crowd on New year eve, Mr Roy said on the basis of media reports and photographs, the department has started investigations in the matter. However, nobody, neither the girl nor any NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) came forward to lodge a complaint to the police, he added.
