Patna, Jan 3 (UNI) Bihar Congress today lambasted the Nitish government for its alleged failure to provide Urea fertiliser to the farmers despite the release of its full quota by the Centre.

Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) president Sadanand Singh alleged that rampant corruption and mismangement at distribution level were responsible for the crisis. He said the farmers were facing hardship due to non-availability of Urea while the item, supposed to be distributed by the government agencies, had been sold in open market.

He demanded action against the officers responsible for black marketing of the fertilisers and asked the state government to make the distribution system effective.
