Governor accepts Zameer's resignation
Bangalore, Jan 3 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi has accepted the resignation of State Wakf and Haj Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan.
A Raj Bhavan communique here said that the Governor has, on the recommendation of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, accepted the resignation of Mr Khan who had quit the JD(S)-BJP coalition government accusing the Chief Minister of showing disrespect to the minority communities.
A first time MLA Mr Khan was elected in June last year to the Assembly filling in the vacancy caused by the resignation of former Chief Minister S M Krishna from Chamarajpet Assembly Constituency following his appointment as Governor of Maharashtra.
