Film director opens seminar

Tirupati, Jan 3 (UNI) Noted Film Director K Vishwanath today inaugurated a two-day seminar on the works of 17th century poet Tarigonda Vengamamba at Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA) here.

In his address, Mr Vishwanath suggested the TTD conduct workshop on such works during summer vacations besides bringing out audio cassettes and CDs by entrusting the work to upcoming singers and musicians.

He promised to help bring out such works in the form of traditional songs.

''Its our duty to preserve such valuable works,'' he said even as he expressed concern over the poor state of the poet's tomb at Tirumala.
