English medium compulsory in AP schools

Guntur, Jan 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Education Minister N Rajyalakshmi today said English medium instruction would be introduced in all government and quasi-government schools from the first standard to the tenth standard by the next academic year.

After inaugurating a science exhibition here, she said availability of English medium instruction was the main reason for the popularity of corporate schools in the state.

She added that the government had decided to introduce computer training in 9,000 schools in the state.
