Eight inter-state car lifters nabbed

Bangalore, Jan 3 (UNI) The city police have arrested eight inter- State car lifters, including three from Kerala, and seized 15 cars totally worth Rs 70 lakhs, city Police Commissioner N Achyuta Rao said today.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said police, on a tip-off, nabbed five criminals when they were hatching a plan to steal cars from Vinayak Nagar in the city recently. They were identified as Syed Irfan (25), Syed Akram (23), Wasim Khan (26), Rafiq (30) and K K Ganesh (47). After interrogation, they arrested three more persons identified as Sunil (30), Riyaz (23) and Wynad Riyaz (30), belonging to Kerala, he added.
