DDA conducts draw for 3818 flats
New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Delhi Development Authority today conducted draw of lots for DDA Housing Scheme 2006 and allotted 3,818 flats to various applicants.
The flats, apart from general category applicants, were also allotted under priority quota to the physically handicapped, ex-servicemen, war widows, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, a statement said.
A total of 2,00,506 applications had been received under the scheme, the highest number received so far in any DDA scheme. Out of this, 607 applications were found ineligible on various counts such as double application by a single person. A total of 1,99,899 applications were put into the draw.
A total of 3,818 flats were allotted in various locations across the city such as Sarita Vihar, Dwarka, Motia Khan, Salimar Bagh, Rohini, Modipur, Kalyan Vihar, Narela and Bindapur.
The result of the draw had already been posted on DDA's website -- dda.org.in -- and also been displayed at DDA's office in Central Delhi.
All the flats were of two-bedroom and three-bedroom and the cost varied from Rs 13 lakh to Rs 55 lakh depending upon the location and covered area.
The draw of lots was held in the presence of the judges -- two Professors from Delhi IIT, Additional Secretary with Ministry of Urban Development and Public Works Department Chief Engineering.
