Dacoit Rambabu injured in encounter

Gwalior, Jan 3 (UNI) Notorious dacoit Rambabu Gadaria was shot at and injured during an encounter with police near the Adivasi Baba temple at Abha Kho area in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh early today, police said.

Gwalior range Inspector General of Police Sarabjit Singh told UNI that Rambabu had received a gunshot wound but managed to escape along with two friends.

During the encounter, the bandits opened fire on police. In retaliatory firing, Rambabu was injured. Two 303 rifles were seized from the spot.

Mr Singh said the rifles were probably looted by the Gadaria gang from policemen.

Intensive combing was being carried out in the area.
