Copper declines on sluggish demand
Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) Copper declined on sluggish demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In Ferrous section, Copper Heavy and Copper utencil further declined by Rs 700 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively due to lack of fresh demand, while Brass Cutting hiked by Rs 500 due to better buying support.
In Non-ferous section, Copper wire bars and zinc slab also eased by Rs 1,100 and Rs 100 per quintal on sustain heavy selling pressure Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 32,500, copper utensils - Rs 30,300, brass utensils - Rs 22,800, brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 35,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, zinc slab - Rs 22,700, lead ingots - Rs 7,700, tin slab - Rs 610 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,740 (per kg).
