Computer sketch of bank heist suspect released

Guntur, Jan 3 (UNI) Police have released a computer-generated sketch of a suspect in the Rs five crore Narsaraopet Chaitanya Grameena Bank burglary case.

The sketch shows the suspect as a young man of about 30 years.

Police suspect the burglar had stayed in a hotel near the bank for about four days before the burglary on December 26.

Mystery surrounded how the burglar obtained false keys of four padlocks in the bank. Police announced a reward of Rs five lakh to those giving clinching clues on the suspect.

Meanwhile, the bank management assured those who had pledged gold jewellery, which had been stolen, that the valuables were all insured. The bank was a subsidiary of the public sector Andhra Bank.

However, the special police team had not made any breakthrough in the investigation so far.
