Committee to select new CSIR DG, Bhan interim chief
New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) The government will soon set up a committee to appoint a new Director General of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in place of food technologist Dr V Prakash who could not take charge on health grounds.
In the meantime, Mr M K Bhan, Secretary, Biotechnology, is likely to take additional charge as CSIR chief till the new incumbent is appointed.
The search committee will be set up to select the new head of CSIR, Union Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal told UNI but declined to give a specific time-frame.
Dr Prakash, who was was to take over from Dr R A Mashelkar on January 1, could not assume office as he is seriously ill.
