Cold wave intensifies in Rajasthan as temperature plummets

Jaipur, Jan 3 (UNI) Churu in Shekhawati belt shivered as temperature plummeted to 1.9 degree, remaining the coldest place in the state today. Temperatures dipped in several other places intensifying the cold wave.

Though the cloud cover lifted providing respite, people in the Shekhawati belt comprising Churu, Sikar and Jhunjhunu districts continued to suffer due to almost freezing conditions.

The state capital recorded 5 degree Celsius today, a three degree plunge from yesterday's 8 degree Celsius. It is pleasant during the day in the state capital with sun shining brightly but as night descends, the cold winds force people to remain indoors.

Several other cities recorded a fall of three degrees Celsius from yesterday. Mount Abu has pleasant weather, mapping 4 degree.

According to the weather department, Pilani and Sriganganagar recorded 3 degree Celsius, Bikaner 7, Barmer, Udaipur 8, Bharatpur and Jaisalmer 9, Jodhpur, Ajmer and Sawaimadhopur 10, Rawatbhata 12 degree Celsius.
