Capital punishment to 3 murder accused

Pratapgarh, Jan 3 (UNI) A local court today sentenced to death three members of the notorious Bawaria criminal tribe in a triplemurder case of the district.

Additional sessions judge Onkar Singh convicted Shami (35), Tasir (22) and Salim (25) of the murder and handed down capital punishment to them.

Another gang member Aasida (23) was given three years' jail term and a Rs 10,000 fine.

According to prosecution, the gang had raided a house on the night of August 31, 2003, and killed three members of the family -- identified as Hiralal Yadav (55), his wife Phoolkali (55) and grandson Aman (2).

The criminals decamped with the valuables, including cash.

Later, a case was registered by Hiralal's son Rajesh against unidentified dacoits in the gruesome incident.

Another accused in the case, Sajida -- a minor -- is being tried by the juvenile court in Allahabad.
