BSP MP bail plea rejected

Basti, Jan 3 (UNI) A local court today rejected the bail application of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP from Basti parliamentary seat Lalmani Tripathi.

Tripathi appeared before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (I) Rajendra Tripathi, who rejected his bail plea. Later, the accused was sent to jail.

On September 15, 2005, Lalmani had blocked the national highway near Sant Kabirnagar district headquarters and an FIR was lodged by then inspector Shiv Das Yadav.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Bhal Chandra Yadav is also one of the accused in the case.

Earlier, the court had issued non-bailable warrant against the BSP leader.
