BJP to oppose Sachar committee report

Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) BJP vice president Venkaiah Naidu today alleged that the Sachar committeee was deliberately appointed by the Congress with vested interest of vote bank and said that BJP would go to any extent in opposing the report.

''We don't accept the report which is not having scientific analysis,'' Mr Naidu said while talking to reporters here.

Mr Naidu alleged that the UPA government at the Centre had failed on all fronts and added that ''competitive appeasement policy is born out of political expediency''.

He alleged that the recent scientific study had also indicated that in seven states including Maharashtra, the percentage of educated Muslims was more than that of Hindus.

He alleged that this report would create more divisions and give birth to new Pakistans and all other communities would also start demanding the same.

Mr Naidu said that from January 16 till May this year, the BJP would launch the 'Janjagran abhiyan' from bloc to district level on issues like the sachar committee report, delay in hanging Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, price hike and suicides by farmers.

When asked about his reaction on hanging of deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, Mr Naidu said hanging of Mohammad Afzal Guru was more important.

He said the issue of hanging of Saddam Hussein was different and for that what he did in Iraq while he was ruling it and what USA was doing now would have to be considered.
