Bihar beat Kerala in National Junior Girls Soccer

Puducherry, Jan 3 (UNI) Bihar outplayed Kerala 5-1 in the inaugural preliminary league match of the fifth National Junior Girls Football tournament here today.

Attacking right from the kick off, Bihar found the net early in the match itself and led 3-0 at the breather.

Shivanjali Kumar (7th and 57th minutes), Mamta Kumari, Nikki Kumari and Neha Kumari scored for the winners, while Harsha netted the sole goal for Kerala in the 63rd minute.

26 State teams were participating in the tournament, which is being played under floodlight. Bengal, Manipur, Tamil Nadu and orissa were seeded straight into the quarter-finals, while the other teams will have to play the preliminary league encounters.

Earlier, Puducherry speaker R Radhakrishnan inaugurated the tournament.
