Shimla, Jan 3 (UNI) All schools in Himachal Pradesh will be providing drinking water facility under the Swajaldhara Mission, state Chief Secretary S S Parmar today said.

Presiding over the ninth meeting of the state level water and sanitation and apex committee here, he said panchayati raj institutions, NGOs and government officers have been asked to forward a list of schools to the state government where drinking water facility was not available.

Mr Parmar said since the Centre was providing liberal grant under the mission, more such projects should be envisioned and prepared and sent to it for approval.

All the previous schemes should be completed first before sending any new more proposals to the Centre for approval and funding, he said.

The Chief Secretary said Swajaldhara was essentially a process project in creating demand driven approach for establishing consistent rural drinking water supply system in the state.
