40 ISC delegates, policemen hospitalised
Cuddalore, Jan 3 (UNI) Nearly 40 delegates and police personnel, who came here for the Indian Science Conference at the Annamalai University were hospitalised following suspected food poisoning last night, police said today.
The delegates and the policemen, after partaking dinner, developed food poisoning symptoms and were rushed to the Raja Muthiah Medical College Hospital.
The food poisoning incident triggered panic among the visitors of the congress.
Lapse of security was also felt at the venue of the conference with the Special Protection Group (SPG) concentrating mainly on the podium while not paying proper attention to VIP security and other delegates.
