2 NSCN(IM) cadres lay down arms in Arunachal
Itanagar, Jan 3 (UNI) Two cadres of NSCN (IM) surrendered with their weapons at a ceremony organised by the Assam Rifles at its headquarters at Khonsa in Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh.
Motivated by Assam Rifles to join the national mainstream, self-styled lance corporal Pumal and self-styled corporal Wangjoy Pangmi surrendered before the Tirap district commissioner Talem Tapok.
23 Assam Rifles officiating commandant Lt. Col. Karan Dixit, DSP Manik Gogoi and two other officers from 159 Battalion CRPF were also present at the function, according to official sources.
The weapons deposited by them including one AK-47, two magazine and 30 rounds of ammunition and one .303 Rifle with one magazine and 59 rounds of ammunition, sources added.
