New Raj BJP chief decision on Jan 8: Ramdas
Jaipur, Jan 2: Senior BJP leader and MP Ramdas Agarwal today said state's new party chief will be decided on January 8 at party headquaters in New Delhi.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Agarwal said party national president Rajnath Singh has convened a meeting of the senior party leaders from the state in New Delhi on the single point agenda of forming a consensus on the name of the new state party chief.
The party has notably postponed the election to the post, pending a consensus as there were divisions on the name of present party president Mahesh Sharma, reported to have the support of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Further favouring the reservation on economic grounds, he condemned the Centre for promoting religion based reservation and termed it as anti-constitutional.
Quoting the recent National Sample Survey report, he revealed that an average earning of a person in the rural India is between Rs 8 and 18. Thus an initiative should be taken to uplift them.
Citing the infamous Nithari village incident in Noida, Mr Ramdas said the Mulayam Singh Goverment has no moral right to hold the office. He also blamed the Congress for propping up the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
