New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) The National Commission for Women (NCW) today sent notices to the Uttar Pradesh Government and Director General of Police, seeking a factual report on sexual abuse and murder of children and women in Noida's Nithari Village.

The Commission directed the state Chief Secretary and the DGP to submit the report at the earliest.

NCW Chairperson Girija Vyas wrote to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh about the killings.

On August 5, 2005, the Commission had received a complaint that three sisters from Nithari village were missing. During its probe, the Commission found out that six more girls were missing from the same village.

On August 30, Noida SSP was summoned to the Commission and directed to give the status report on the rescue of the missing girls.

''The police till date has not submitted the report.... Police has displayed utter negligence and callousness in this case. Had it acted in time many lives could have been saved,'' the Commission's spokesperson said.

At least 38 children from Nithari Village went missing over a period of 30 months but only 19 police complaints were registered, though five of these 19 children returned home.

Prime accused employer-servant duo of Mohinder Singh and Surinder had allegedly sexually abused, mutilated and killied young boys, girls and women and dumped their remains in a drain behind the house.
