Aurobindo bags 2 USFDA approvals
New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Aurobindo Pharma Ltd today received two more approvals from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Bisoprolol and Amoxicillin oral suspension.
With the approvals, the company's generic approvals from the administration have risen to 35. The products currently command a market size of 100 million dollars in the US.
Amoxicillin oral suspension is a Beta-lactam antibiotic used often in treating respiratory infections. GSK is the inventor of this antibiotic and markets it under the brand name Amoxil.
Bisoprolol is a beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor-blocking agent. It belongs to the group called Beta-blockers. Bisoprolol tablets are used in managing cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart diseases and arrhythmias.
The drug is the original product of Duramed Pharms Barr and is known as Zebeta.
