AP to honour Braille on Jan 4

Hyderabad, Jan 2 (UNI) The 198th birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the founder of Braille Script, will be celebrated in Andhra Pradesh on January four.

The Disabled Welfare Department, which was striving for the rehabilitation and mainstreaming of the disabled community including the visually challenged for the past two dacades, will organise state and district level functions on the day, an official release said here today.

The objective of the function was to pay tribute to the valuable services of Louis Braille in educating the visually challenged and to reorient the services of Disabled Welfare Department, NGO's, associations and other agencies towards the uplift of the unfortunate lot.
