Train traffic paralysed on Delhi-Jammu-Amritsar routes
Jalandhar, Dec 30: Rail traffic on the Delhi Jammu and Delhi Amritsar routes has been paralysed for some days following traffic restrictions at the Jalandhar Jammu section to facilitate ongoing work for double lining on the route.
Most of the trains to and fro Jammu are being run on diverted route via Amritsar for past several days and this has increased traffic on the Amritsar Delhi route upsetting normal schedule of several long distance trains, a Railway Spokesman told UNI.
Today, several trains were running behind schedule, he added.
Among these, 5654-Guwahati bound Jammu Guwahati Lohit Express was running indefinitely late while its up service from Guwahati was late by four hours.
Likewise, 3005 Howrah Amritsar Mail was late by nine hours,5707 Katihar Amritsar Express and Jammu New Delhi Jammu Mail by eight hours, 3049 Howrah Amritsar Express by five hours and 6032 Jammu Chennai Andaman Express was by three late hours.
2014 Amritsar Delhi Shatabdi Express was also delayed by half an hour this morning, the spokesman added.
