TN House to meet on Jan 20 for Governor's address

Chennai, Dec 30 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu assembly will meet on January 20 for the customary Governor's address for the year 2007.

State Governor S S Barnala summoned the assembly to meet at 0930 hrs on that day, a release from assembly secretariat here said.

After the Governor's customary address, the House would debate a motion, thanking the Governor for his address, for about a week and pass the same before being adjourned.

After a gap, the House is expected to meet again for the budget session. The House had briefly met on December four for the winter session and only a couple of days ago, the Governor had prorogued the session.

After coming to power in May last, the DMK governemnt presented its Revised Budget for the year 2006-07 on July 22 last.
