Rains likely in NE states, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh

Pune, Dec 30 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Lakshadweep.

Cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. Cold day conditions also prevailed at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Jharkhand, coastal and south interior Karnataka and in some parts of Tamil Nadu and were below normal in some parts of Orissa and of west Uttar Pradesh. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat region and were above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Marathwada and Vidarbha and in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan and Goa and of coastal Andhra Pradesh and in remaining parts of Orissa. They were normal over the rest of the country.
