Karnatak emerged champion in 3-day national sanskrit elocution

Puri, Dec 30 (UNI) Karnatak has emerged champion by winning five gold and two silver at the three-day long national Sanskrit elocution contest concluded here.

Organised by the Rastriya Sanskruta Sansthanam, the competitions were held in oration and intelligence tests in Vyakaran, Nyaya, Sankhya yog, Mimansa, Vedant, Sahitya, Dharmshastra and Jyotish The composition test on construction of poetry from a few words were a part of the competition, said Venketesh Murty, a senior functionary of the Sansthanam yesterday.

An eight-member judges selected the winners as nearly 200 competitors from fifteen states tried their luck.

Former Chief Justice of Supreme Court Ranganath Mishra, Sansathanam Vice Chancellor V. Kutumbashastry, Union Rural development Secretary Subash Chandra Pani and Sansthanam first chairperson R K Sharma gave away the medals to the winners.
