Two sentenced to 10 yrs RI on drug peddling charges
Ahmedabad, Dec 29 (UNI) A local court today sentenced two persons to ten years rigorous imprisonment, after convicting them of drug peddling.
Abdul Rahim Pathan and Shivrajsinh Chauhan had been arrested by the CID Crime Branch (Narcotic cell) sleuths, led by inspector M J Pathan, from the city on August 12, 2004.
City session court additional principal judge Z K Saiyad convicted the duo while upholding the prosecution contention that the police had recovered almost one kilogram of ''charas'', valued at about Rs one lakh in the international market, from the duo.
Police had recovered 827 gms of ''charas'' from Abdul and 125 gms of the narcotic drug from Shivraj.
Abdul Pathan hails from Bangalore while Shivrajsinh is a resident of Jaipur.
