Rajasthan moot state airline for promotion of tourism
Jaipur, Dec 29 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said the state government is mooting a state-owned airline company to augument air connectivity in the state.
The Chief Minister disclosed this at the foundation laying ceremony of the new international airport here at Jaipur today.
She said the state the state attracts about 18 million tourists every year and they could save a considerable time and energy if they were given an option of air connectivity to important tourist places in the state. The state government has upgraded 15 airstrips in the state and is toying with the idea of a state-owned airline to the convenience of the tourists visiting the state, Ms Raje added.
She said helicopters and planes owned by the Rajasthan government could be effectively utilised for domestic air travel in the state and the state government is seriosuly considering the proposal.
