One killed six injured in Kashmir blast
Srinagar, Dec 29 (UNI) One person was killed and six others were wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in the down town city today, official sources said.
They said that militants had planted an IED in a local grave yard to target the 96 batallion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) naka party at Hawal under the jurisdition of police station Zadibal.
However, the IED exploded when a motorcyclist was passing the area killing him instantly and injuring six others.
The deceased was identified as Shabir Hussain Khan.
The injured were admitted to hospital, they said adding security forces and police have launched a joint operation to nab the militants responsible for causing the blast.
