MTNL to ensure verification of every customer

Mumbai, Dec 29: The state-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced that every customer wanting to apply for a Dolphin or Trump mobile connection will have to come in person to the Customer Service Centres(CSC).

This request has been made in the view of the recent directive by the Department of Telecom, which applies to all mobile telecom service providers so that adequate verification is ensured, said a MTNL press release here.

The directive is a step in line to ensure that mobile phones are not misused due to inadequate verification, the release added.

UNI
