Meeting of newly-appointed Shiv Sena spokespersons tomorrow

Mumbai, Dec 29 (UNI) A meeting of the four Shiv Sena spokespersons, whose names were announced by party supremo Bal Thackeray last Wednesday, will be held tomorrow at the Shiv Sena Bhavan to allocate issues and subjects to be handled by each of them.

''Responsibilities will be fixed for each of the spokespersons and the issues to be handled by them for dissemination of party's views to the media,'' party sources said here today.

It is for the first time since its inception that Mr Thackeray has named official spokespersons to speak on different issues and the party's stand on them.

Earlier, Mr Thackeray did the job either through press conferences or statements issued in the party mouthpiece 'Saamna' of which he is the editor.

The spokespersons have got inputs from party Executive President Uddhav Thackeray. Party supremo Bal Thackeray is also scheduled to interact with them soon, sources added.

The four spokespersons are former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, senior leader Subhash Desai and legislator Neelam Gorhe. Their names were announced by party supremo Bal Thackeray on Wednesday during a meeting of officebearers, where he launched the election campaign for Mumbai civic polls.
