JITO to launch co-branded credit card, talks to banks for discounts

Mumbai, Dec 29 (UNI) In a unique initiative, Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) plans to bring out a co-branded and self sufficient credit card called 'Ahimsa Card' for its members.

Talking to media on the sidelines of a media meet to announce the forthcoming second Jain Bizmen's Global Summit here today, Convenor of JITO Dhirubhai Kothari said ''We're holding talks with banks like HDFC, IDBI and ICICI on the discount issue''.

''A good number of Jain business establishments will participate in this venture offering various discounts and schemes'', he said.

Giving information about the forthcoming two-day summit, which begins on January 06, Secretary General of JITO Shanti Lal Kawar said ''Some of the leading businessmen and industrialists from all over the world will gather during the brainstorming session on value-based endeavours as part of a major international event''.

Some of the big Jain establishments that are likely to participate the event include Adani, RK Marbles, Parsvanath and others, he said.

The idea is to unite all the members of the community that are divided by the four sects like Digambar, Shwetambar, Terapanthi and Sthanakwasi, he said.

Over 10,000 delegates are expected to attend the conference and 400,000 people are expected to throng the trade fair which will form part of the event, said JITO Secretary General, Hemant M Shah.

JITO has also initiated a unique concept called Shraman Arogyam under which Jain monks of all sects will get free treatment at any hospital all over the country.
