House site pattas to those living on govt lands: CM

Chennai, Dec 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunaidhi today announced house site pattas to those residing in government lands for more than ten years.

The previous DMK Government, on a committee's recommendation, had issued 1,95,957 house site pattas till March 2001 to people residing in government lands for more than ten years.

As similar pleas were now received through legislators and individuals, the Chief Minister has decided to give such pattas, provided those lands were not required for government for any purpose.

The Chief Minister said the process of issuing pattas would begin in January and complted in six months.
