EC announces poll schedule for Manipur, Punjab, Uttaranchal

New Delhi, Dec 29 (UNI) The Election Commission today announced that elections to legislative assemblies in Manipur, Punjab and Uttaranchal will be held in February next year.

The polling for Punjab will be held on February 13 and for Uttaranchal on February 21. In Manipur, the polling will be held in three phases -- on February 8, 15 and 23.

Counting of votes in all these places will be on February 27, Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy said.

The terms of the present legislative assemblies of Manipur, Uttaranchal and Punjab are due to expire on March 11, 17 and 20 respectively.
