Dhobies fast in support of their demands

Puducherry, Dec 29 (UNI) The members of Washermen's Association observed a fast in front of the legislative assembly to press their demands, here today.

They were demanding, among other things, the setting up of a Welfare Board for dhobies, provision of Rs 1,500 per moth as rain relief and allocation of houses in multi-storied buildings.

They also took out a procession through the main thoroughfares of the town to the assembly.
