Demand to nominate Rahul as AICC general secretary

Sultanpur, Dec 29 (UNI) Congress Sewadal will handover a letter containing signatures of one lakh cadets to party chief Sonia Gandhi demanding Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi be nominated as the AICC general secretary.

A resolution to this effect was passed at Congress' Amethi unit office here during the party's foundation day function yesterday.

All India Congress Sewadal secretary and constituency in charge Rajnarain Yadav said Hindustani Sewadal was constituted in 1923, while Congress Sewadal came into existence in 1931 following endeavours of Mahatma Gandhi.

Sewadal leaders feel the Congress would gain in strength, if Mr Gandhi is delegated more responsibility.
