Darshan arrangements to Lord Balaji temple made
Chennai, Dec 29: Hectic preparations were going on at the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Information Centre where Shri Venkatachalapathy temple is located in connection with the 'Vaikunta Ekadasi,'' falling on December 30 and special darshan on the New Year day on January 1.
TTD Assistant Executive Officer T Munuswamy and Local Committee President K Ananthakrishna Reddy told newspersons here that arrangements, including proper manning of queues for devotees to get darshan of the lord without any hindrance would be made.
More than 50,000 worshippers and at least 1,00,000 people were expected to visit the temple on December 30 and January 1 respectively, they said, adding that 30,000 laddus priced at Rs 25 each would be made available on January 1.
As advised by police, which had been asked to make adequate security arrangements, any kind of offerings by the devotees to the lord would not be accepted, they said adding that e-darshan seva would be suspended for the two days.
