Craig McMillan gets call-up as Astle's cover for 2nd ODI

Wellington, Dec 29 (UNI) Nathan Astle's injury earned Craig McMillan a recall as cover for the former in the New Zealand squad for the second one dayer against Sri Lanka at Queenstown on Sunday.

According to a New Zealand Cricket (NZC) statement, McMillan, who played 175 limited-overs internationals for the Blackcaps, was on standby to join the team in Napier after Astle sustained a hand injury in the Boxing Day Twenty20.

McMillan played the last of his 175 ODI against Australia last year.

The hosts suffered a seven-wicket loss in the first ODI and worse, Astle suffered bruising to his thigh after being hit thrice by Sri Lankan pacer Chaminda Vaas.

''Ross Taylor, who made his maiden international century at McLean Park, rejoined the team last evening after he was treated for dehydration,'' the NZC statement read.

Taylor was admitted to hospital and put on a drip yesterdsay after he suffered dehydration.
