BJP wants medical college shifted

Puducherry, Dec 29 (UNI) The Puducherry Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) today demanded the shifting of the government medical college from Kadirgamam to a rural area like Bahour.

Talking to newspersons here, BJP State President Visveswaran said the present location would lead to problems as the route faced heavy traffic.

Taking strong exception to Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao allegedly hosting a cocktail party Mr Visveswaran demanded the chief minister express regret.

The BJP leader said he had participated in the national executive committee meeting of the party at Lucknow and held discussions with national leaders on how to develop the party in Puducherry.

The party would organise month-long celebrations to mark the birthday of Former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee.
